Five students of Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan) spent the spring semester at Bashkir State Medical University. Training under the academic mobility program became possible thanks to a memorandum signed in 2022 between the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia and Osh State University, which is being implemented as part of the Priority-2030 strategic academic leadership program.
Four students were in their fifth year, another in their third. Together with Russian students, they mastered the academic program in accordance with the curriculum: they attended lectures and practical classes, underwent practice at the best clinical bases of the republic.
But studying is not the only thing that occupied guests from Kyrgyzstan. They actively got acquainted with the scientific life of the University: they participated in conferences, visited laboratories. to get to know the culture of the region better, students went to the theater and together with everyone celebrated traditional holidays, for example, Maslenitsa.
Integration was successful: classmates noted the friendliness and enthusiasm of Kyrgyz students. The guests themselves also shared their impressions:
"Our university provided us with a unique opportunity to stay at your university for one semester. In Kyrgyzstan, we also have a very strong training program, but I noticed that BSMU places great emphasis on clinical cases, starting from the first courses. We also have a different training format: you have cycle classes, and we have a classic training program."
"The children from Kyrgyzstan have perfectly integrated into the educational process of Bashkir State Medical University and our group personally. They showed catastrophic friendliness and interest in the learning process in our group," Tagir Nizamutdinov, a classmate of Kyrgyz students at BSMU, said.
