One of the key events of student life — the beauty, intellect and talent contest Mr. BSMU 2026 — took place at the Congress Hall. By tradition, representatives from all faculties of the University competed for the title of Mr. BSMU.
This year, the contestants embodied characters from legendary Soviet films. According to the jury’s decision, the title of Mr. BSMU 2026 went to Ketan Hemant Jagtap, a student of the International Faculty. Ketan came to study medicine from India. The student admits he has fallen in love with Russia. It was challenging — he had to adapt to an unfamiliar language and culture — but he overcame the difficulties and made many friends. The stage is part of his soul: in his free time, Ketan performs in theatre productions.
“Each costume reflects the qualities I possess, and I’ve never missed a chance to showcase them on stage,” the student says.
Pyotr Gareev, a student of the Paediatric Faculty, was named First Vice‑Mr., while Roman Persidsky, a student of the General Medicine Faculty, received the title of Second Vice‑Mr.
Online voting on social media determined the winners of special nominations:
Mr. M² Media Centre of BSMU and Mr. Trade Union Committee — Vitaly Chernov;
Mr. Student Council of BSMU — Roman Persidsky.
We congratulate the winners and all contest participants!
Thank you for your energy, confidence and unforgettable performances — you made this evening so bright and memorable.
