The delegation of the University led by Valentin Pavlov takes part in the Congress of the Arab Association of Urology in Oman

In Oman, the city of Muscat, from November 13-16, the Congress of the Arab Association of Urology (AAU) 2025 and the 5th conference of the Oman Society of Urology (OSU) are held.

Innovation in the field of urology and the exchange of best practices in this field are on the agenda. The theme of this year's congress is artificial intelligence and robotic surgery in urology. Participants discuss concept and clinical practice.

The event is attended by a delegation of the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, headed by the rector, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Valentin Pavlov. BSMU Clinic and the University represent:

- Valentin Nikolaevich Pavlov, Rector of BSMU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Chief Freelance Specialist, Urologist of the Volga Federal District, Chief Freelance Specialist, Urologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Society of Urologists, Chairman of the Bashkortostan Regional Branch of the RSU.

- Papoyan Anushavan Oganesovich, Head of the Urology Department of the BSMU Clinic,

- Urmantsev Marat Fayazovich, Head of Oncology Department-Oncologist,

- Vardikyan Andranik Gareginovich, urologist-andrologist, BSMU Clinic

Throughout the conference, with a focus on networking and innovation in urological technologies, we strive to delve into the latest research, breakthroughs and best practices that shape the future of urological care," said Mohamed Moussa, President of the Arab Association of Urology, co-chair of the Congress, in his welcoming remarks.

As a part of the Congress, on the first day of the event, a joint session of the Arab Association of Urology and the Russian Society of Urology took place. Russia was represented at the session by Valentin Pavlov, as First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Society of Urology. The AAU was represented by Yasir Farahat, Executive Director of the Arab Association of Urology.

Valentin Pavlov noted that the world community today is actively interested in the development of robotic medicine:

"Conferences in Russia, as in Oman, are held at a high level. It is encouraging to see that the Arab Association of Urologists is developing dynamically. More and more people are interested in participating, and partners are interested in demonstrating their products and capabilities. All our scientific reports at international conferences are met with great interest. This confirms the high expertise of scientists - doctors of the Bashkir State Medical University. There are a lot of questions from colleagues from the Arab countries on robotic medicine, equipment, robotic technologies for the treatment of kidney cancer."

BSMU delegates also acted as experts in the sections:

- "Robot-assisted radical cystectomy with intracorporeal neobladder formation"

- "Robot assisted radical cystectomy with intracorporeal bladder neoplasia: experience of complications"

- poster presentations and presentations as a part of sessions on the topics of genetic research of patients with a urological profile, discussion of new approaches to the prevention of complications in reconstructive urology, research of the microbiota of urine and renal stones in patients with nephrolithiasis, etc.

There are still 2 days of vigorous congressional work and new partnerships ahead.
