From October 15 to 21, 10 students of Bashkir State Medical University participated in the fourth international talent exchange program at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University (PRC). This visit provided a valuable experience for future doctors and scientists, allowing them to immerse themselves in the advanced medical practices and scientific achievements of China.
The students visited various departments, including cardiac surgery, anaesthesiology, X-ray imaging, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), clinical and laboratory diagnostics, and rehabilitation for children with nervous system pathologies. They observed the equipment used in clinical and scientific laboratories.
The scientific program of the internship included participation by BSMU students in the Russian-Chinese conference for young scientists, a conference on immunology titled "Competition for the Selection of Clinical Cases," strategic sessions, discussions, and demonstrations of experimental work in the laboratory.
Our students also became acquainted with:
• The protocol for preparation for Raman microscopy.
• The protocol for plasmid transplantation between bacteria.
• The use of behavioral tests on animals and the specifics of conducting these tests in the laboratory.
BSMU students also visited the simulation center, the center for accreditation of practical skills, and the BGI-HL OHA Intelligent Laboratory, which is equipped with the most productive sequencer in the world, the DNBSEQ-T20×2.
Students shared their impressions:
Alexander Neryakhin noted: «We highly appreciate the high-class organization of internships, which allowed us to immerse ourselves in the work of scientific laboratories, exchange knowledge and experience with leading specialists. Through your lectures, hands-on sessions and collaborative projects, we have gained valuable new knowledge of medicine that will no doubt enrich our future professional activities».
Tagir Nizamutdinov added: «As a part of our program, we were able to get acquainted with the work of high-tech Chinese clinical diagnostic laboratories and a wonderful 4th affiliated hospital. Thank you for your support and help in solving household and work issues, for the exciting dedication to the culture and science of great China».
Denis Gromenko emphasized: «We thank you for the opportunity to visit Harbin Medical University and take part in the conference, where we were able to communicate with leading specialists, learn more about the culture and traditions of China and gain valuable experience».
Participation in the fourth international talent exchange program at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University marked an important stage in the professional and scientific development of BSMU students from the Ministry of Health of Russia.
The internship was conducted as part of the activities of the Russian-Chinese Association of Medical Universities (RCMU). BSMU has already organized more than 200 joint scientific events with Chinese universities, resulting in over 100 scientific articles published in highly rated journals.
