Over 100 BSMU Students Participate in the XI Ufa International Marathon

The XI Ufa International Marathon recently took place in Ufa, attracting a record-breaking 10,150 participants from 38 countries and 52 regions. Among them were over 100 students from Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) representing 48 nations, along with faculty members, making BSMU the largest team among all universities.

Participants had the option to run distances of 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, 21.1 km, and 42.2 km, with a special children's race covering 50-200 meters. Notable faculty members who participated included Ruslan Gainullin, head of the Physical Culture Department, and Timur Mukhamaev, head of the Ophthalmology Department, who completed the full marathon distance of 42.2 km.

Student El Khiresh from group L-508B secured third place in the half-marathon (21.1 km), while Ruslan Gainullin and Bulat Ilyasov ran the 10 km distance. Many staff members participated alongside their families.

The marathon route showcased the historical parts of Bashkortostan's capital. Winners and prize recipients were awarded commemorative medals and prizes. BSMU representatives continue to actively participate in the Ufa International Marathon each year, achieving impressive results and fostering a spirit of sportsmanship.
