From May 13 to May 15, the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia hosted participants in the VI Open International Cricket Tournament among student teams of Russian universities. Vice-rector for educational and social work Ilgiz Timirbulatov, dean for work with foreign students Rasul Farshatov, deputy dean for work with Indian students Ambika Lokeshwar and head of the department of physical culture Ruslan Gainullin took part in the opening ceremony of the sports competition.
The tournament was attended by 120 students from seven universities. The competition culminated in an exciting knockout stage.
The cricket tournament was attended by students from Omsk State Medical University, Samara State Medical University, Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulyanov, Perm State Medical University, South Ural State Medical University and Orenburg State Medical University.
The winners were:
1st place - team No. 1 of the Belarusian State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia;
2nd place - Orenburg State Medical University;
3rd place - Chuvash State University. I.N. Ulyanova.
The remaining teams were awarded cups for active participation:
Bashkir State Medical University team number 2;
Omsk State Medical University;
Perm State Medical University named after Academician E.A. Wagner;
Samara State Medical University.
South Ural State Medical University (Chelyabinsk).
BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia regularly hosts cricket competitions among foreign students. A cricket tournament of this level, of this magnitude in the history of BSMU, is being held for the sixth year. The competition was held under the current rules of cricket, held under the auspices of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The game lasted up to 10 overs. The tournament was held according to the combined system.
The competition highlighted the growing popularity of cricket among international students. This year, teams from Chelyabinsk, Omsk and Samara took part in the tournament for the first time. Geography is expanding and the level of skill of participants is growing
To boost morale, the BSMU of the Russian Ministry of Health honored the best players from each team, regardless of whether they won or lost. The best players were recognized:
