April 17 at Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov hosted the XXXII International Conference of Students, Graduate Students and Young Scientists "Lomonosov-2025." Students of the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia Bejarano Martinez Katerine Jimena (L-402B IN) and Joseph Keys-Ohab (L-402A IN) took part in the work of the subsection "Humanitarian orientation (for foreign students)" with a report "Features of the language picture of the world in the minds of residents of Colombia and Haiti." The guys presented a report in Russian language.
According to the results of the jury's assessment, the report of the students of the Bashkir Medical University took second place.
In their work, the guys talked about the special attitude to water in the cultures of Colombia and Haiti, which was reflected in the language picture of native speakers of Spanish (Colombian version) and Creole:
"The Spanish idiom Agua que no has de beber, déjala corer contains the word agua - water, literal translation: Water you should not drink, let flow. The phrase means that if something does not concern you, does not care or is not of interest to you, then it is better not to interfere and let it pass by your ears.
The creole idiom Gwò van ti lapli contains the word lapli - rain, has a literal translation: Strong wind - light rain. The expression is used in a situation where a person promises a lot, but does little".
The abstracts of the report are recommended for publication in the collection of the Lomonosov-2025 conference.
Congratulations to our students and wish them continued success in science!
