Linking Science and the Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology held a conference for international students

On February 25, the Bashkir State Medical University hosted an intra-university scientific conference "Theory and Practice of Scientific Dialogue in the Discursive Space of a Medical Article" with international participation. The conference became a joint event of the scientific student circle of the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication Linking Science and the scientific departments of the Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology.

The conference program included faculty and student reports on key aspects of scientific discourse in the medical field.

The focus was on the genre features of the scientific article, the methodology of interdisciplinary research and the structure of publications. A separate block of the conference touched on issues of publishing in leading world journals such as Lancet and Nature, as well as the ethical aspects of scientific publications.

Mohamed Sharib (L-404b IN) spoke about which English-language medical journals can publish articles in the field of urology (supervisor - senior teacher M. Petrosyan). Sonya Sourabh (L-406a IN) devoted his report to the preparation of a successful article for publication in the Lancet under the guidance of acting Head of Department L.A. Linnik. The ethics of publications in medical journals became the topic of Apurva Alagavadi's speech (L-404b IN), working under the guidance of senior teacher M.M. Petrosyan. The conference program also featured a report by student Raj Patel (L-416a IN), who spoke on the topic "H-Index." Under the guidance of Associate Professor L.A. Karakuts-Borodina, he analyzed the significance of this indicator in the academic environment, its role in assessing the scientific productivity and influence of the researcher. And this is just some of the reports.

In the afternoon, a series of presentations of BSMU scientific laboratories dedicated to modern research in the field of immunology, molecular genetics and cellular technologies took place. In conclusion, the conference participants had the opportunity to visit the laboratories of the Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology.

The conference demonstrated the high level of scientific training of students and the relevance of the issues discussed. The organizers expressed gratitude to all participants and emphasized the importance of such events for the development of scientific communication in the medical community.
