International Sports Festival "Friendship of Peoples" united foreign students of BSMU during winter holidays

Winter holidays for foreign students of the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia passed with benefit. The University organized the Festival of Sports, which was attended by students, residents, graduate students and teachers of the University. Sports events popularize not only a healthy lifestyle among young people, but also unite the student team, allow students from different parts of the world to get to know each other in an informal setting and gain new knowledge about the Russian culture and culture of the countries of students of the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

Recall that about five thousand foreigners from near and far abroad study at the University.

Sports and recreation events began from the first days of vacation for students. On February 1, badminton competitions were held. 55 students of BSMU participated. Largest representation of students from India. During the stubborn struggle, the winners were determined.

On February 3, cricket competitions were held in the 10th building of BSMU.

The competition was attended by 5 teams. Most of the teams were students from India. Winners and prize-winners will be able to join the BSMU cricket team. BSMU is the founder and organizer of the International Cricket Tournament. A fourth cricket tournament is scheduled for 2025.

Every day training sessions in futsal and volleyball were held.

Mass skating was also organized at the ice rink of the Dynamo stadium. Many foreign students for the first time in their lives began to skate and shared photos, emotions with their parents. Also, swimming training sessions and classes on modern simulators were held.

Every day, in sports hall of the Bashkir State Medical University on Repina Street, the Spartakiad was held among the hostels in fitness "Struggle for Survival," dynamic cross-fit, strength fitness, power all-around, cross-static, workout fitness.

On February 8, the Winter Sports Festival "Ski Track of Russia" of the Kirovsky District of Ufa was held on Solnechny Beach, which was dedicated to the Year of Defenders of the Fatherland, the Year of Support for SMO (Special Military Operation) Participants and Their Families and the 80th Anniversary of Victory. BSMU students took an active part and became prize-winners of the competition. In snow volleyball competitions, foreign students from Turkmenistan won second places. In the same competitions, foreign students of BSMU from India became the third. Foreign BSMU students from India finished third in the tug-of-war competition.

The involvement of foreign students in sports and recreation events during the winter holidays has become a good tradition of the University. A large number of mass sports events, training sessions are held at the Dynamo stadium. The initiator and organizer of the events is the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU.
