Medical scientists of the Bashkir State Medical University became participants in the XIII International Urological Conference in the UAE

The 13th Emirates International Urological Conference 2024 (EUSC 2024) was held in Dubai from the 4th to 6th October. The scientific event is supported by the Emirati Urological Community. The conference brought together world experts in the field of urology from the UAE, Turkey, Italy, India, Russia, Egypt, Nepal, Qatar, Sweden, Great Britain, Ireland, Lebanon, Iran, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, USA, Iraq. Participants shared their experience in the treatment of urological diseases, in particular therapy for infertility, urinary tract infections, prostate cancer, etc.

Medical scientists of the Bashkir State Medical University took part in the conference and made presentations as part of the business part of the event.

Ruslan Radikovich Ishemgulov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Activities,

Asadullina Dilara Dinarovna, Junior Researcher, Laboratory of Molecular Genetics, Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology, presented a report on the topic: "Analysis of exosomal miRNA expression related to immunotherapy response in clear cell renal carcinoma."

Yenikeeva Kadria Ildarovna, Head of the Laboratory of Immunology, Ph.D. made a presentation: "Transcriptomic insights for precision differentiation of prostate cancer and benign prostate hyperplasia."

Kagirova Evelina Marselievna, Junior Researcher, Laboratory of Molecular Genetics, Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology, Graduate Student, Department of Genetics and Fundamental Medicine, presented a report: "Analysis of pathogenic changes in BRCA1/2 genes in patients serious ovarian cancer using NGS."

Internationally, Evelina Marselievna Kagirova took 2nd place among the speakers and was awarded a medal.

"In my talk, I focused on the importance of researching mutations in genes associated with the development of cancer. These studies open up not only new perspectives for therapy, but also provide an opportunity to carry out effective prevention among family members of patients with hereditary forms of cancer. The use of modern molecular genetic diagnostic methods, such as next-generation sequencing (NGS), stands out, "noted Evelina Marselievna Kagirova.

The equipment for NGS installed at the Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology of the Bashkir State Medical University makes it possible to detect genetic changes with high accuracy. This approach is the basis of a personalized approach in the treatment of patients and the prevention of cancer in relatives at risk. Research is being implemented within the framework of the Priority-2030 program.

Scientists note that new research fully fits into the concept of personalized medicine, which modern healthcare strives for.

Note that the Bashkir State Medical University has long-standing business ties with the Emirates. For several years now, Ufa has been visited by the head of the urology department of the Central Private Clinic in Sharjah, UAE, Dr. Emad Iyad. On the basis of BSMU, the surgeon improves his qualifications and shares his experience with his republican colleagues.

"For me, Russia has always been, is and will be a second homeland. I came here when I was only 17. Studied and developed here. Science and technology are very well developed in the Russian Federation. I always tried to connect professors of the United Arab Emirates and professors of Russia and Bashkiria. We held various conferences and scientific and educational events. And we managed to show that there are good doctors in Russia, and science is developed at the highest level, "said Dr. Emad Iyad.

Emad Iyad also lectures to BSMU students at the Interuniversity Student Campus, conducts master classes and teaches the practical part in the operating room of the BSMU Clinic - medical students observe the intricacies of working online. Such an exchange of experience allows us to master new world methods.
