First-year students of BSMU celebrated the Day of Knowledge

On 1 September, the first-year students of Bashkir State Medical University took part in a solemn parade dedicated to Knowledge Day at the Dynamo Stadium. On this day, recent schoolchildren put on white coats for the first time and stepped on the path of learning the profession of a doctor. This year, more than 1,500 freshmen entered Bashkir State Medical University.

The freshmen parade was preceded by a concert programme prepared by creative student groups of Bashkir State Medical University. Freshmen and deans of all faculties of BSMU, Institute of Education Development and Medical College took part in the solemn parade.

The culprits of the celebration were congratulated by the guests of honour of the event: Rector of BSMU, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professor, Dr. M.Sc. Valentin Nikolaevich Pavlov, Chairman of the Committee of the Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Science, Education and Culture Liliya Salavatovna Gumerova, Minister of Health of RB Airat Razifovich Rakhmatullin, Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth Policy and Sports of the State Assembly - Kurultai of RB Aibulat Vakilovich Khazhin and six-time world champion in biathlon, bronze medallist of the Olympic Games in Vancouver, Honoured Master of Sports of Russia, First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Public Organisation ‘Physical Culture’ Maxim Aleksandrovich Chudov. - Today is the best day for each of us. The best graduates of schools of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Russian Federation, 60 countries of the world joined the friendly student family of Bashkir State Medical University. Our university is the leading educational and scientific medical centre of the country. We have unprecedented support of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Faritovich Khabirov. We are participants of all federal projects of health care, medicine and science. BSMU is an active participant of the programme ‘Priority 2030’, Interuniversity Student Campus of the world level. Already some of you will live in a new dormitory, which will open in 2025. And today we have all the opportunities for you not only to become doctors of the XXI century, but also to become successful in science. So that on the basis of our laboratories of molecular genetics, immunology, on the basis of the laboratories of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine, the world-class Campus the most daring ideas will be realised. We congratulate you! - Dear students, you have drawn a really lucky ticket, and you will receive knowledge and a ticket to adulthood in one of the best universities of the Republic of Bashkortostan, our multinational Russia, and, perhaps, a university that has become famous in the world. Achievement of technological sovereignty, breakthrough development of the country is impossible without science, technology and knowledge. The profession of a doctor and medical worker is special, it requires not only knowledge and competences, but also a special heart and soul. I am sure that you have entered the medical university just by the call of your heart, so I sincerely congratulate you and want to say that the most important wealth that will never let you down is your solid knowledge and student friendship, because student friends remain for the whole life, - congratulated the newly graduated students of BSMU Liliya Gumerova, Chairman of the Committee of the Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Science, Education and Culture.

- You have chosen the best profession and will study at one of the best medical universities in our country. The republic's healthcare system and we all need you very much. We need cool, creative and professional specialists who will come and move practice and science forward, and, of course, save lives. With Radiy Faritovich's support, we are doing a lot to develop infrastructure: we are building polyclinics, erecting rural district hospitals and, of course, putting the most modern equipment in our medical centres. Only highly qualified specialists should work with such equipment. We are already waiting for you for your first internship next summer, and further on - for work. Dear students, this is an exciting moment for you, I understand you as a graduate of our Bashkir State Medical University. It is especially exciting for parents today. Dear parents, having a medical student in the family is a difficult test, which I want you to pass worthily. I congratulate everyone on the Day of Knowledge! The guests of honour at the gala event presented medical kits to the stobal winners and school Olympiad winners who entered Bashkir State Medical University this year. This year Bashkir State Medical University chose every third student with 100 score in chemistry USE (16 freshmen) and two winners of Olympiads.

After the end of the solemn part of the Knowledge Day celebration, the freshmen met with the deans of the faculties.
