Bashkir State Medical University opened a College in the northern part of Ufa

On 1 September, the Day of Knowledge, the Medical College of BSMU opened the second educational building in the northern part of Ufa. The College is located at 6D Repina Street.

The new building of the College of Medical University will train up to 500 specialists of secondary professional education, including for hospitals of Ordzhonikidze district No. 8, No. 13, No. 17 and Republican TB Dispensary on speciality ‘Nursing’. The opening ceremony was attended by participants of the Special Military Operation.

The opening ceremony was attended by:

- Liliya Salavatovna Gumerova, Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Science, Education and Culture;

- Ural Tagirovich Kilsenbayev, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan;

- Minister of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan Airat Razifovich Rakhmatullin;

- Ildar Maratovich Mavletberdin, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Bashkortostan;

- Seven-time world champion, two-time European champion in international draughts. Deputy Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan Tamara Mikhailovna Tansykkuzhina.

The Rector introduced the guests to the infrastructure of the College: lecture halls, classrooms, a computer lab, a sports hall with showers and changing rooms, an assembly hall, a cafeteria and a modern sports ground are equipped for the students of the College.

Medical College No. 2 was founded in 1952 as a nursing school, in 1954 the school became a college. Today we are opening Medical College No. 2. We are restoring forgotten names. Many famous doctors and nurses graduated from the College, who made a great contribution to the development of healthcare.

The opening of the College is the development of medical education in the northern part of the city. It was stopped and today we are reviving the glorious traditions at the federal level as a subdivision of our Bashkir State Medical University. The first 200 students, future nurses and paramedics will start their studies here today. This is very relevant both for the residents of the northern part of the city and for medical institutions. The new college is located in close proximity to major city hospitals - this is a great opportunity for students to get knowledge and practice in the leading medical institutions of the Republic of Bashkortostan. We congratulate students, pupils of future students on the Day of Knowledge! We are sure that young years will be filled with new ideas, knowledge, and competences that they will carry through the whole life’, rector of BSMU, academician of Russian Academy of Sciences, professor, doctor of medical sciences Valentin Nikolaevich Pavlov.

As part of the College's opening, the Rector told the guests about the work of the Tactical Medicine Centre at Bashkir State Medical University.

In the new Centre, medical workers and specialists with real combat experience will teach students of the College and the university the skills of tactical medicine and first aid in emergency situations. Fighters who have undergone a special military operation will also become mentors. Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU, also told about the work of medical brigades of BSMU in the border zones of the Special Military Operation.

‘The new college is strong in educational programmes and the part of tactical medicine that is so necessary today. We are in great need of workers in the republic's health care system. There are about 70,000 people working in the system now and there is still a shortage of paramedics and nurses. The College of BSMU will allow us to cover the needs for the benefit of our patients. The most modern equipment and wonderful teams are already waiting for you - young and daring creative our students and future nurses’, addressed to the students Minister of Health of RB Airat Razifovich Rakhmatullin.

The guests noted that children from other towns and villages of the republic came to study at the College.

‘Today, by opening this college, we are closing the need for medical education in the northern part of the city. Today, more than 60 per cent of graduates choose secondary vocational education for themselves. Taking this opportunity, I would like to say a sincere word of gratitude for such a state approach and skilful building of both educational and construction processes to the rector of BSMU Valentin Nikolaevich Pavlov.

Dear students! You have really got a lucky ticket to study in such a renewed College. Even some universities can envy the atmosphere and environment that has been created for you today. The medical profession is a very special one. It requires not only high competences, but also heart and soul. I am sure, having gained solid knowledge, you will find your place in life. The most important wealth of your life is solid knowledge and your friends. They will never let you down. BSMU College No. 2 is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment: ‘For example, the phantom room will be used by 1-2 year students in nursing and medicine. Students will practise practical manipulations on patient care on phantom mannequins. According to the standards of education, all medical manipulations are practised on mannequins, and only then they are transferred to medical practice in medical institutions’, Aigul Maratovna, lecturer of BSMU College.

The guests also walked around the University dormitory, talked to the students and made sure that the living conditions of students at the university meet all modern standards.

‘In Ufa - to be treated’ - the printed issue of “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” with this title was seen by the guests in one of the rooms of the hostel (a great interview to the newspaper was given by Valentin Pavlov, Rector of BSMU, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences). Having talked to the future doctors, the guests were convinced that the future of the republican healthcare is in safe hands: BSMU students highly appreciate medicine in Bashkortostan and that is why they plan to pursue a career as a doctor in the region.

Ural Tagirovich Kinselbaev, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan:

‘Under the leadership of BSMU Rector Valentin Nikolayevich Pavlov, the second renovated building of BSMU for students and scientists has been opened in recent months. It is very important that despite such a difficult period for the country, new educational facilities are being opened in the region. I wish the guys good luck, learn!’

Ildar Maratovich Mavletberdin, Minister of Education and Science of RB:

‘We have something to compare with. We know what used to be in the place of this building. About 6-7 years ago, it was unbelievable to believe that a real temple of knowledge had appeared in this place. I am sure that this building will launch new knowledge and creations and produce first-class middle-level specialists’.

The festive opening was concluded by laying flowers at the memorial monument to the fallen soldiers who honestly fulfilled their military and civil duty to Russia.
