A training session was held at the “Pulse” sports and recreation camp

The first visit took place in early June - the first-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy had an internship and plunged into the sports and recreational life of the camp.

Summer field practice is the final stage of the study of the discipline “Botany”. Students got acquainted with different phytocenoses (forest, meadow, coastal-water vegetation), mastered the methods of their description, strengthened the skill of determining unknown plants by identifiers.

At the end of the internship the students passed individual and group assignments on collection of medicinal raw materials, drawing up herbarium specimens. In August, the second sports and recreational trip, organized by the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU, was completed.

More than 100 students, including foreign students, became participants of the shift. Activists of sports sections, students who achieved success in scientific and cultural life of the university were involved in the training camp.

Students identified the strongest in the following sports: soccer, volleyball, streetball, table tennis, beach volleyball, checkers, chess, half-marathon. The “Race of Heroes” obstacle course competitions were especially spectacular. Jogging and competitions were organized as part of the nationwide program to increase physical activity “Man Walking”.

During the visit, students improved their knowledge and skills in various areas. A program “Tactical Medicine” was organized for the students - the students received skills of first aid in emergency situations, gunshot wounds. A master class on participation in grants of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) was organized with the involvement of University experts.

Jeff Monson, five-time winner of the world grappling championship and world champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, deputy of the State Assembly - Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan, held a training session for the students and answered all the questions. He showed the students several techniques that he himself uses in wrestling fights.

Within the framework of accreditation under the program of experts-auditors of the global program FISU - Healthy Campus (Healthy / Safe Campus) the camp was visited by famous athletes and experts of the project Albina Rakhmatullina (FISU) and Tatiana Lebedeva (RUDN). The guests got acquainted with the organization of sports activities not only at the camp but also at the University. The experts highly appreciated the organization of sports events. The guests from Moscow were organized a sightseeing tour of the camp base.

The students were also involved in the diverse cultural life of the camp: “Miss Pulse”, “Mr. Pulse”, KVN, “Jeopardy”, “Quiz”, “Treasure Island”, “Movie Day” left bright impressions on future doctors.

The sports and health-improving race fully corresponded to its name. The morning of each day began with jogging and vigorous gymnastics, which smoothly passed into training on simulators. The sports grounds of the camp were not empty either. In accordance with the needs of young athletes was organized healthy and nutritious meals.
