On April 25, 2024, students and postgraduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy of BSMU took an active part in the 78th scientific and practical conference of students and young scientists with international participation "Actual problems of modern Medicine and Pharmacy - 2024", organized by the Belarusian State Medical University (Minsk).
In the online format, students of our university presented the results of their own scientific research. Maria Nikishina, a 4th-year student and an employee of the Laboratory of Additive Technologies at BSMU, made a presentation on "Development of the composition, technology and research of tablets and suppositories obtained using 3D printing." The work was carried out under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biotechnology, Ph.D. Fanis Khamidullovich Kildiyarov and Head of the Laboratory of Additive Technologies Mars Flaritovich Galautdinov.
During the research, unique tablet shapes were developed and prepared using 3D printing for subsequent analysis of their dissolution rate. The author suggests the use of a number of polymeric substances to achieve optimal 3D printing technology of dosage forms.
The work aroused sincere interest among the participants of the conference and the members of the jury and absolutely deservedly won the first place. Also, the researcher is currently solving the problems of selecting the required drugs and determining the method of their administration directly into the printed dosage form. The continuation of these studies will make it possible to take another significant step towards achieving personalized medical care and drug provision for patients.
We sincerely congratulate the winner and wish her further success in her scientific activities, new discoveries and high achievements!
