From April 10 to 13, Bashkir State Medical University hosts the Eurasian Forum of Colorectal Surgery with international participation – EFCS. Experts in the field of colorectal surgery demonstrate their skills and approaches in the “live surgery” and "semi-live surgery" modes. The scientific and practical sections highlight modern achievements in coloproctology and oncocoloproctology. The Forum is organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Bashkir State Medical University with the support of the Association of Coloproctologists of Russia.
– Over the past few years, we have opened a world-class Interuniversity student campus and modern laboratories at the University: laboratory of molecular genetics, laboratory of immunology, laboratory of stem cells, modern biobank, laboratory of additive technologies, laboratory of mathematical modeling, laboratory of experimental pharmacology and others. In this regard, we invite all of you and all your research teams and youth groups to cooperate to carry out joint research projects. Today it is very important for our country," the Rector of BSMU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, MD, Professor Valentin Pavlov greeted the participants of the Forum.
– One of the significant medical tasks is the early detection of oncological diseases, early surgical treatment and interaction with oncologists on the further management of patients, on further chemotherapy. Colorectal surgery is now more divided into two parts. One part is acute surgical pathologies with purulent processes, and the second part is related to oncology. I would like to encourage you to expand your knowledge, to study new approaches to the organization of medical care for patients with cancer of the rectum and colon, – said Irina Kononova, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan, in her welcoming speech.
The program of the event includes a conference, live broadcasts from the operating room, discussions and a separate section for young scientists. Daily operations performed by surgeons from Moscow and St. Petersburg are broadcast for the forum participants: laparoscopic robot-assisted anterior rectal resection, laparoscopic hemicolectomy, excision of a pilonidal cyst with plastic surgery, etc.
