POLICE OFFICERS TOLD FOREIGN STUDENTS HOW NOT TO FALL VICTIM TO CYBER SCAMMERS

Today we had a very interesting meeting with Lieutenant Colonel of Police, Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Department of Internal Affairs OP-9, Yakupova Elvina Uralovna, who spoke about the importance of due diligence and the prevention of cyber fraud. It turns out that recently cases of fraud in the network have become just off the scale.

The police officer shared with us several important tips that will help to avoid becoming a victim of digital criminals. First of all, it is necessary to be attentive to suspicious messages and links that come to our mail or through social networks. Often scammers use such methods to gain access to our personal information or financial data.

In addition, the police officer emphasized that we should be especially careful when sharing personal information online. Never give out your passwords, passport numbers or bank card numbers through unreliable channels. It also makes sense to regularly update passwords and use complex character combinations to strengthen the protection of your account. We should choose the strictest settings on social media and other online platforms to protect our personal information and limit access to it to outsiders.

The police officer's important advice was also to avoid opening suspicious attachments or downloading files from unreliable sources. This can lead to malware infecting your computer, or even your data being stolen.

We hope the kids have realized that cyber fraud prevention is an extremely important activity on which our personal well-being and safety depends. It is never unnecessary to be careful and cautious online. Let's be vigilant and not let fraudsters cheat us!
