Mikhail Murashko and Radiy Khabirov visited Bashkir State Medical University

On August 7, the Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko and the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov visited the Bashkir State Medical University in Ufa. This is one of the leading specialized universities in the country, which also implements the program of the world-class Eurasian Scientific and Educational Center.

During the visit, the head of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Head of the region attended a scientific and practical conference dedicated to summer educational schools, including with the involvement of foreign students.

Mikhail Murashko and Radiy Khabirov welcomed the participants of the discussion and wished them successful work.

– More than 75 thousand foreign students receive medical education in our country. It is gratifying that today BSMU retains the status of a leading scientific and educational platform, creates new technologies and medical products. Competition among the country's universities is intensifying. Therefore, it is important for you to increase the pace of development, – said the Minister of Health of Russia.

The Head of Bashkortostan noted that the traditions of preserving interethnic harmony are strong in the republic.

– Of course, the doors of Bashkortostan, our medical institutions are open to young people, including from outside the republic and the country. There are also foreign citizens among them – very meticulous, patient and hardworking people – this is how our residents characterize them. Welcome! – said Radiy Khabirov. – Bashkortostan is a very multinational region. We really appreciate your competence, your best human qualities.

Mikhail Murashko and Radiy Khabirov presented state awards of Russia and Bashkortostan to healthcare workers and thanked them for their difficult, selfless work. The honorary diploma of the President of the Russian Federation for merits in the field of healthcare and long-term conscientious work was awarded to our colleagues - Vice-rector for Regional Development of Healthcare Vitaly Vasilyevich Viktorov and Head of the Department of Anesthesiology-Resuscitation of the BSMU Clinic Alexander Alexandrovich Grazhdankin. We congratulate our colleagues on their well-deserved awards and wish them new successes!

Then Radiy Khabirov and Mikhail Murashko inspected the university grounds. The rector of the university, Valentin Pavlov, spoke about the reconstruction of the university buildings and its dormitories. The Head of Bashkortostan noted that the appearance of the renovated buildings should correspond to the concept of Teatralnaya Street, which is planned to be landscaped.

The guests also got acquainted with new projects and educational technologies that are being implemented on the basis of BSMU. Among them are the "Digital Department" and the Institute of Fundamental Medicine.

Teachers and students spoke about the university's competencies in various areas of healthcare. They presented the possibilities of the digital laboratory of hemodialysis, robotic surgery, digital modeling of the human body.
They also presented a project of an ophthalmological cluster, which is being created on the basis of a medical university through the consolidation of resources of the Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases and the federal center "Alloplant".
