Results of the International Scientific and Practical Conference of students and young scientists "Biology - a step into the medicine of the future"

On June 15, the International Scientific and Practical Conference of students and young scientists "Biology - a step into the medicine of the future" was held at BSMU. The purpose of the Conference was to promote scientific knowledge and modern achievements of biology in the field of predictive medicine as the basis of medicine of the future, to involve students in scientific activities, to strengthen cooperation between researchers, teachers and students through the exchange of information and knowledge, to increase the level of training of specialists for practical healthcare within the framework of the Priority 2030 program. Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs D.A.Valishin and Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Cooperation I.Sh.Akhatov addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. The plenary session heard reports of scientists from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Abkhazia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.  

The Conference continued in 5 sections: "Genetic and immunological aspects of monogenic and multifactorial diseases", "Personalized medicine – the basis of medicine of the future", "General Biology", "Biology – a step into medicine of the future" and "Biology is a step into the medicine of the future" where scientific reports of young scientists were presented, doctoral and postgraduate students from Russia (Ufa, Kemerovo, Moscow), Abkhazia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, participants of the Youth Scientific Society of the Department of Biology, as well as students – winners of the first 2 rounds of the annual Intra-University Biology Olympiad. Section 5 "Biology is a step into the medicine of the future" was held in English, students from India studying at BSMU presented their reports here. All reports were actively discussed during questions and discussions. At each section, the best reports were awarded with diplomas of 1, 2 and 3 degrees. The guests of the Conference expressed their gratitude and desire for further joint cooperation with BSMU.

The result of the Conference was the unanimous adoption of a resolution on the annual holding of the International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Biology - a step into the medicine of the future".
