The scientific report of the professor of the Department of Pediatric Surgery Sataev V.U. was recognized as the best at the prestigious international Congress of Surgeons ELSA

Employees of the Department of Pediatric Surgery with physical and medical rehabilitation of children Professor, MD. Sataev Valerii Uralovich and Associate Professor, MD. Alyangin Vladimir Grigorievich took part in the International Congress.

On April 27-29, Samarkand hosted the I-st Spring Congress of the Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA) 2023 "Minimally invasive surgery on the Silk Road". ELSA (https://elsasociety.org /) is an international authoritative society and one of the founders of the International Federation of Societies of Endoscopic Surgeons (IFSES), whose governing body consists of representatives of leading endoscopic surgeons from 37 countries of the Asia-Pacific region. ELSA coordinates the efforts of scientists from different countries in the development of minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery, implements grant programs and organizes seminars to support young specialists from Asian countries.

The Congress in Samarkand was attended by leading scientists from Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Japan, India, Yemen, Turkey, Hong Kong, Oman, Palestine, UAE, Russia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, as well as more than 400 specialists in the field of minimally invasive surgery, urology, oncology, gynecology and pediatric surgery from all regions of Uzbekistan. The brilliantly organized Congress was held in Samarkand City, a beautiful picturesque place. The team of organizers led by Professor Shamsiev D.A., who is also the governor of ELSA, head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery No. 1 of SamSMU, Professor Yusupov Sh.A. presented surgeons from different countries with a holiday of science and practice. The general management was carried out by the Rector of the SamGMI, Professor Rizaev Zh.A. and the founder of the School of Pediatric Surgeons of Uzbekistan, Professor Shamsiev A.M., as well as the President of ELSA Prof. Philip Chiu (Malaysia) and Secretary General ELSA Davide Lomanto (Singapore)

57 scientific reports of surgeons from different countries on various issues of minimally invasive surgery in adults and children were presented. The Russian delegation was represented by surgeons from Moscow, Kazan and Ufa. Representatives of BSMU made two reports:

1. Sataev VU. Thoracoscopic surgery for pleural empyema in newborns and infants

2. Alyangin VG. Laparoscopic treatment of pinched inguinal and inguinal-scrotal hernias in children.

The report of Professor Sataev V.U. was awarded the highest rating of the community and recognized as the best among all oral. He received the prestigious award from the hands of the Secretary General of ELSA, Professor Davide Lomanto (Singapore).

In addition, V.U. Sataev performed 2 demonstration operations as part of the master class, and V.G. Alyangin delivered lectures for students, residents of SamSMU and pediatric surgeons of Uzbekistan.
