Cosmonautics Day for foreign students

"After flying around the Earth in a satellite ship, I saw how beautiful our planet is. People, we will preserve and multiply this beauty, and not destroy it," wrote Yuri Gagarin, revealing to us not only space, but also the vector of development for preservation and multiplication for everyone. It is in this vector that cultural and educational work with our foreign students takes place.

Foreign students of the first, second, third and pre–university courses from India, Syria, Algeria, Afghanistan, Indonesia, China, Egypt, Iran, Vietnam, Cambodia, Congo, Georgia and other countries were preparing for Cosmonautics Day long before April 12, because International Cosmonautics Day is a special day not only in history and science in Russia, but also for the entire world community.

The Cosmonautics Day was preceded by a meeting with a man who for a long time headed the Bashkortostan regional branch of the Russian Cosmonautics Federation - Sergey Ivanovich Plyukhov. Students learned about how astronauts are being prepared for flight, what problems have to be solved in order for a mission to Mars to take place, how aircraft are being tested, what tasks space medicine faces, and much, much more. During the discussion, our students were interested in questions about what Roscosmos is currently working on, how Russian cosmonauts and spacecraft designers relate to Elon Musk, what awaits us in the near space future… Students received the most interesting, and sometimes unexpected, answers to each of their questions.

And on April 12, 120 of our foreign students with Russian language teachers went to celebrate Cosmonautics Day at the Ufa Planetarium, where they were waiting not only for the exciting full-dome program "Journey through the Solar System" created by the Donetsk Planetarium, but also a concert, a photo shoot with an astronaut and, of course, gifts.

So all the students, unexpectedly for themselves and for the first time in their lives, learned about space as a sphere of active human work, an area in which Russia was and in many ways remains the first, and we are very happy to open to our students new interesting and glorious pages of Russian science and history as part of the history of all mankind.
