On April 12-14, 2023 at Kazan State Medical University (Rector – Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Professor Alexey Stanislavovich Sozinov) at the Department of Biomedetics, Medical Law and History of Medicine (Head of the Department, MD, Professor Marina Yuryevna Abrosimova) the V International Olympiad on the History of Medicine "Heritage: Western Medicine of the XIX – the first half of the XX century.". The team of Bashkir State Medical University (Rector – Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Valentin Nikolaevich Pavlov) was formed at the Department of Public Health and Health Organization with a course of IDPO (Head of the Department – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Nazira Khamzinovna Sharafutdinova) from among the activists of the student scientific circle, which were trained by Associate Professor Azat Uranovich Kinyabulatov and assistant Danis Galimyanovich Dautbaev. Thanks to the organizational support of the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Damir Askhatovich Valishin, the possibility of a comfortable arrival and residence in Kazan of the team from BSMU was provided in a short time. Thanks to this, it was possible to prepare well for the -2nd rounds of the Olympiad. The team on the history of medicine included students of the Faculty of Medicine (Dean – MD, Professor Ekaterina Rafaelovna Farshatova): Kurbanov Magomed Salmanovich L-314B, Dishnaev Yusup Ramzanovich L-306B, Idigov Islam Rizvanovich L-314B, Dadaev Adam Ramzanovich L-320B, Tutaev Denis Zhamalayevich L-212B.
The Olympiad was held at the Kazan State Medical University in the Anatomical Theater.
6 teams took part: -2 teams from Kazan State Medical University, 1 team each from Bashkir State Medical University, the First St. Petersburg State Medical University, the Medical Institute of Tambov University, from Tajikistan
The Olympiad consisted of 2 stages with sub-stages.
Stage 1 "Subject"
1) "Historical erudition"
There were 3 questions on the piece of paper that had to be answered in writing. The team from BSMU coped well with this task and was able to get their points.
2) "Biographical information"
The card contained the names of an outstanding representative of the world history of medicine of the 19th-early 20th century. For a certain time, the team had to compile a biographical note of the proposed scientists. The team from BSMU received maximum points in this round.
Stage 2 "Creative"
1) "Fotovopros"
The teams had to answer the question after viewing a certain slide.
2) "Video query"
The teams must answer the question after watching the corresponding video.
3) "Black box"
After a brief outline, the teams must guess what is in the black box. Students from BSMU were able to recognize the thing.
The team from BSMU showed its cohesion at the Olympics, the ability to get out of difficult situations, erudition. Team Captain Magomed Kurbanov prepared for the contest in advance and came in the form of a young Abu Ali Ibn Sino in a national uniform with a Persian turban and beard. Team spirit and positive attitude helped students from BSMU to get the 3rd place in the international Olympiad on the history of medicine "Heritage: Western medicine of the XIX – first half of the XX century."
At the White Flowers Forum, a health organization team consisting of: Sukhorukova Olga Mikhailovna L-411B, Yakupova Diana Rishatovna L-411B. Muzafarov Aidar Ratmirovich, L-411A, Gadeeva Venera Maratovna P-407A, Khitrina Yulia Viktorovna L-413A.
In the conference "Memorable dates of Russian medicine" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Raisa Sharafutdinovna Abdrakhmanova Kutliakhmetova Renata Ilzovna L-211A with a poster presentation "The Republican Cardiocenter as a center for training doctors-scientists" took first place.
The student scientific circle of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare Organization with the IDPO course expresses gratitude to the deans of the faculties: medical — Professor E.R. Farshatova, pediatric — Professor I.F. Sufiarov.
