Foreign students of BSMU mastered the basics of experimental medicine In the period of January 4-6, 2023, a Winter educational school for international students “Experimental workshop - Gates to translation medicine” was organized at the Department of Pharmacology with a course in clinical pharmacology in order to implement the state university support program “Priority 2030”. During this period, students were introduced to the basic principles of good laboratory practice (GLP, good laboratory practice), the rules of work in the laboratory and humane treatment of experimental laboratory animals, alternative model systems and experimental models for the study of pharmacological activity of drugs, and also had the opportunity to evaluate the effect of various drugs in animal experiments. Practical skills were developed in the study of drug toxicity, intraoperative monitoring of laboratory animals and necropsy, modeling of vena cava thrombosis and assessment of cardioprotective activity in conditions of perfusion of an isolated heart on a Langendorff device, demonstration of the results of studies conducted in a digital morphological class. The holding of this school corresponds to the implementation of the activities of the “Priority 2030” program in the areas of “youth policy” and “research policy”, laying the necessary competencies in future research doctors.
