Foreign students of BSMU discussed national gastronomic traditions at the Talk2me conversation club

On November 5, the next meeting of the Talk2me conversation club for international students took place at BSMU. Russian Russian, Indian, Egyptian, Iranian, Moroccan gastronomic habits and traditions were discussed by the students together with the teachers of the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication.

The event was held in the format of a competition. The participants were divided into 7 teams: "Biryani", "Anubis", "Eggplant", "Talkers", "Pirates", "Silver" and "Rivaib". At first, students shared their impressions of Russian cuisine, guessed from the names of dishes how they were prepared. For example, the students assumed that "jelly" is a cold and sweet dish. Then each team had to prepare a presentation of the national dishes of their countries in Russian and present it to their opponents. The participants approached the task with great enthusiasm, the discussions were fun, lively and friendly. The victory in the competition was literally snatched by "Anubis" and "Pirates", beating their rivals by only one point.

In addition, a week before the event, teachers of the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication announced a video recipe contest in the TikTok format among students. Voting takes place in the Telegram channel of the conversation club and will last until November 13. At the moment, the organizers of the contest have received over 1,500 votes.
