Interdepartmental Student Surgery Olympiad 2022

On 15.10.2022, the Department of Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery hosted the annual Interdepartmental Surgery Olympiad among students. The opening of the Olympiad was held in the 338 auditorium of the 2nd building of BSMU. At the opening, the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Tsyglin A.A., Chief freelance surgeon of the Republic of Bashkortostan Timerbulatov M.V., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Farshatova E.R., Acting Dean of the Pediatric Faculty Malievsky V.A., Head of the Department of Operative Surgery Hidiyatov I.I. Presenters, students of BSMU Hasanov Ruslan Galievich P-406B and Guryanova Elvina Almazovna L-508A coped with their mission perfectly, setting a fervent start to the Olympiad. Competitions The Olympiad began after the anthem of surgeons (author Professor Garaev R.N.).

 The main competitions were held in Building No. 5, where operating tables with organs and laparoscopic racks were prepared in advance. The surgical competitions were attended by students from the 2nd to 6th courses of the medical and pediatric faculties. This year five teams took part: topographic anatomy and operative surgery; surgical diseases and new technologies; faculty surgery; pediatric surgery and international. 10-11 students participated in each team. The contestants competed in 9 categories: knitting surgical knots, knowledge of instruments, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, tracheal intubation, performed coronary artery bypass grafting on a pig's heart, formed a tendon suture, intestinal anastomosis "end to side", laparoscopic suturing of a stomach wound, laparoscopic appendectomy on a glove. As a result of the intense struggle , the leaders were:

- Department of Topographic Anatomy of Operative Surgery - I place;

- Department of Surgical Diseases and New Technologies - II place;

- Department of Faculty Surgery - III place.

 The Olympiad was held smoothly and at a high level.
