Talk2me Conversation Club for international students

On October 5 and 6, teachers of the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication and the Dean's Office of the International Faculty of BSMU held the first meeting of the Talk2me conversation club this academic year. The theme "The best mentor: what is he like?" was dedicated to the Teacher's Day. Foreign students of the second and third courses talked about their teachers and discussed how mentors influenced their lives. Undergraduates have prepared presentations and videos on this topic.

Each meeting of the conversational club is preceded by linguistic preparation: a few days before the meeting, the teachers provided students with questions for preparation and a link to the Quizlet application for studying and memorizing words and phrases needed when discussing the topic. Many students were interested in the topic, so the discussion was lively and fruitful. Students shared their opinions and listened to each other with interest, talked about their mentors, people who are an example, and such were famous personalities, and their teachers, and for some - parents. According to the survey results, most students were satisfied with the event, many highlighted the following positive points: useful words and phrases, a lot of practice and the opportunity to speak to each other in Russian.

One of the main goals of the conversational club for international junior students is to create comfortable conditions for entering spontaneous speech. The meetings of the conversational club are planned to be held monthly. Students can choose topics for discussion on their own in the Telegram channel of the Club. Join us!
