Foreign students of BSMU became winners and prize-winners of the International mas-wrestling tournament and in the 1st Open Cup of the Far East "GTO-2022 Games" Vladivostok

The competitions were held on September 5-8, 2022 within the framework of the VII Eastern Economic Forum. The opening ceremony was attended by: Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kolmar Group of Companies Anna Tsivileva, Senator of the Russian Federation, President of the International Mas Wrestling Federation Alexander Akimov, Minister of Sports of Russia Oleg Matytsin, General Director of JSC Joint Stock Company "Railways of Yakutia" Vasily Shimokhin, Permanent Representative of Yakutia in the Far Eastern Federal District, Kim Borisov and the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the RS (Yakutia) Leonid Spiridonov.

Athletes from 20 countries of the world, including students of BSMU, participated in the competition. Students of our university represented the Republic of Bashkortostan in the prestigious tournament. The coaches are the head of the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU Ruslan Gainullin and the faculty member of the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU Ilgam Ishmukhametov.

       The international mas-wrestling tournament is traditionally held as part of the sports program of the Eastern Economic Forum on the territory of Russian Island. This year it was held for the fourth time.

Young people from all over the world fought with rare tenacity for the possession of the cherished wooden stick "mas". The students of our university showed willpower, high skill and became winners and prize-winners of competitions.

Men

Up to: 65 kg

3rd place – Veronica Lorena Perez (L-207 A IN).

In the mas-wrestling team competitions, the BSMU team took the all-team first place. Each athlete received a wonderful sports watch from the Finnish manufacturer "Polar" - the best in its industry. Also, each participant received a monetary reward, an original sports uniform, valuable prizes from sponsors, cups, diplomas and medals.

Our team has shown good results in the implementation of GTO complexes within the framework of the 1st open Cup of the Far East "GTO Games-2022". 

The basis of the Republic of Bashkortostan mas-wrestling team consists of students of BSMU, mainly students from among foreign citizens. Recently, our students became prize-winners of the World mas-wrestling championship in Yakutsk. It has become a good tradition to attract foreign students to participate in republican, All-Russian and International mas-wrestling competitions.
