The ability to wash your hands properly will protect children from many viral and parasitic diseases

The return of schoolchildren from vacation, the mixing of collectives, the cold snap — all this increases the infectious load and traditionally contributes to the increase in the number of cases in early autumn.

— Parents should teach children to hygiene. Hand washing is the first and simplest rule of prevention of viral and parasitic diseases. But it is it that often needs explanations," said Olga Milushkina, chief freelance specialist of the Ministry of Health of Russia for the hygiene of children and adolescents.

But the doctor does not recommend using antibacterial soap all the time. Most microorganisms can be easily removed from the skin of the hands with ordinary soap when thoroughly soaping the hands for 20 seconds and rinsing off the foam with running water.

We also remind you of the basics of the prevention of viral and parasitic diseases:

  • cleanliness;
  • lack of crowding;
  • individual use of personal hygiene items;
  • timely detection of cases;
  • preventive medical examinations;
  • vaccination.
