As part of the involvement of 1st year students in the social life of the university and in order to develop mentoring, an Olympiad on first aid for international students was organized. The Olympiad was held in several stages, more than 200 applications were accepted, 4 teams reached the final: “BSMU GOT TALENTS”, “Future doctors”, “Keep heart pump get disease dump”, “Minds that cure and hearts that care".
The highlight of the Olympiad was the involvement of undergraduates and residents as mentors, from among foreign students who helped junior students prepare for assignments.
The final stage was held on the basis of the 3rd building and the Federal Accreditation Center. If in the 3rd building students showed theoretical knowledge and "business cards" of the teams, then on the basis of the Center for Practical Skills (head of the Center for Practical Skills, associate professor Biktimirova G.A.) all conditions were created for mastering first aid stations. Students performed not only tasks related to first aid skills (cardiopulmonary resuscitation, drowning, unconsciousness, bleeding control, but also showed "soft-skills" skills (leadership and teamwork).
We express our gratitude to the leadership of the Center for Practical Skills and the Federal Accreditation Center for participating in the preparation and holding of the Olympiad.
