Case study on focal dystonia in the BSMU Clinic

On April 2, 2021, the case study on the treatment of focal muscle dystonia using botulinum neuroprotein type A preparations was successfully held according to the BSMU order and the work plan of the University Research and Educational Center "Psychology, Pedagogy, Neurology, Neurorehabilitation". The case study took place in the Clinic of Bashkir State Medical University on the basis of the Center for Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine and Botulinum Therapy.

Participants of the case study were BSMU residents, postgraduates, and students, as well as neurologists and ultrasound doctors of outpatient and inpatient Ufa medical institutions. They received up-to-date information and practical skills. Professor and neurologist Leyla Akhmadeeva and Elvira Gizatullina, ultrasound doctor of the BSMU Clinic, demonstrated methods of botulinum therapy with ultrasound navigation on the example of complex clinical cases of cervical dystonia and facial hemispasm.

The organisers of the case study thank Associate Professor Alevtina Kryukova, head of the Simulation center of the BSMU Clinic, for her constant support and assistance in organizing the work.

It should be mentioned, that the University Research and Educational Center "Psychology, Pedagogy, Neurology, Neurorehabilitation" plans a series of educational events in April on the program of work of scientific and educational medical clusters, including jointly with the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan and colleagues from Russian and foreign universities and clinics.
