From July 5 to 10, Bashkir State Medical University held the regular Eurasian scientific and practical off-site conference in the Iremel Mountain "Topical issues of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of new COVID-19 coronavirus infection". The conference was attended by Valentin N. Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, Professor Vladimir Sh. Ishmetov, Vice-rector for educational and social work, teachers, doctors of BSMU Clinic, graduate students, residents and students of BSMU, including natives of India, Egypt, Yemen, and other countries.
Students of BSMU partner universities from China and Germany, who had studied at BSMU last year under the academic mobility program, online climbed the mountain of Iremel and took part in the conference.
The conference was marked by the ascent to the mountain of Iremel, the highest accessible point of the Republic of Bashkortostan. BSMU students-activists of the "Vitalis" BSMU tourist club annually conquer the Iremel, and also go hiking in popular tourist areas of our Republic.
- Combining a scientific conference and a tourist trip is an interesting idea proposed and implemented in the annual list of BSMU events by Valentin N. Pavlov, rector of BSMU. This approach allows to involve students in science actively and spend time with health benefits. Every year, Valentin Nikolaevich leads the campaign and climbs the peak of the Iremel together with students: for us this is an incentive and an example of the possibility to conquer any peaks in life, - BSMU resident and head of the BSMU tourist club Levon Arzumanyan shared his impressions.
