Members of the Department of Psychiatry and Addictology with the Course of IAPE at BSMU have received another grant from the Federal Fund for Presidential Grants of the Russian Federation (Putin grants) for the project Psychological Assistance to Parents Raising Children with Autism. The team is presented by Professor A. R. Asadullin, MD, associate Professor Akhmetova, Candidate of Medical Sciences (head of Healthy Family non-commercial organization), and Baytemirova L. D., the applicant of the Department. The topic of the research is being developed by the Department in cooperation with the V. M. Bekhterev National Medical Research Center of Psychiatry and Neurology (Saint Petersburg) as a part of initiative study.
The project is focused on the improvement of social situation in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The focus group of the project is the parents of autistic children, who need the quality and modern psychological support. During a year, psychiatrist and psychologist will work with the families of autistic children, individually and in groups.
The project is aimed at supporting the parents of autistic children quality psychological aid and work out preventive measures to reduce the risk of suicide behavior among the focus group.
The tasks of the project are as follows: to examine the basic psychological problems, which meet the parent of autistic child meets; to implement the program with the help of conducting individual and group psychological work with the focus group of the project.
The project will complete with the elaborating of methodical recommendations for social services for further testing in other regions of the country.
