Currently, 16 BSMU graduates are studying at the joint postgraduate program in Harbin Medical University (China) and Bashkir State Medical University. Training is carried out under the academic mobility program within the framework of the agreement on cooperation of higher education institutions.
Due to the current epidemiological situation, post-graduate students during the pandemic are located in the Russian Federation and study in China remotely.
This year, five graduate students finish their studies and plan to defend their PhD degree. In view of the current epidemiological situation, it has been decided to conduct the protection procedure remotely.
On June 10, Elena Kapora, the first PhD student, defended her thesis. Elena is studying in China in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her thesis is devoted to the influence of LSD1 gene expression on the development of ovarian cancer. Scientific supervisors are Professor Tan Wenhua and Professor Indira Sakhautdinova.
- The defense is held as follows: each PhD student is given 30 minutes, during which we present our work and answer experts’ questions. I have been studying in China since 2016. After my PhD, I plan to defend my PhD in Russia and start working at BSMU and the University Clinic,” - Elena Kapora shared her impressions.
Today, on June 11, Aigul Saitgareeva, PhD student of the Neurology department (scientific supervisors are Professor Lihua Wang and Professor Leila Akhmadeeva), successfully defended her thesis on strokes. The work aroused great interest and productive discussion.
In June, the following graduate students are scheduled to be defended: Azaliya Shabanova (Cardiology), Ilgiz Gareev (Neurosurgery), Timur Yagudin (Cardiac Surgery).
