On June 4, 2020, Bashkir State Medical University hosted online the first International Scientific and Practical ConferenceMental health - new realities. The Psychiatry and Addiction department with the Course of IAPE at BSMU, Professor Vladimir Yuldashev, MD, head of the Psychiatry and Addiction department with the Course of IAPE prepared the conference. Azat Asadullin, MD, associate Professor of the Psychiatry and Addiction department with the Course of IAPE, moderated the conference.
The conference was opened by Maxim Zabelin, Minister of healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan, noting the relevance and timeliness of this communication format.
The global pandemic not only led to the increase in patients with viral diseases, but also changed almost the entire paradigm of health and social functioning. Scientists around the world note both the growth of anxiety and depressive disorders, the use of psychoactive substances, and problems associated with these diseases.
The conference brought together more than 1200 participants from 14 countries and 30 lecturers from 4 countries. Among the lecturers were professors of the world level: N. G. Neznanov, Director of the V. M. Bekhterev National Medical Research Center of Psychiatry and Neurology, President of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists, the main freelance expert psychiatrist of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor), President of World Association for Dynamic Psychiatry; E. M. Krupitski, Deputy Director on Scientific Work and head of the Addiction department at the V. M. Bekhterev National Medical Research Center of Psychiatry and Neurology, Saint-Petersburg, Russia, head of the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology of Addictive States in the A. V. Waldman Institute of Pharmacology; Z. Sh. Ashurov, head of the Psychiatry and Addiction department of Tashkent Medical Academy, President of the Association of Psychiatrists of Uzbekistan; S. N. Mosolov, head of the Therapy of Mental Disorders department of Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry, branch of the V. P. Serbsky National Medical Research Psychiatry and Addiction Center, head of the Psychiatry department at the Russian Medical Academy Continuing Professional Education.
