The Neurology department IAPE of BSMU takes part in the VI Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) in Paris

On May 23-26, 2020, the virtual VI Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) was held in Paris. The Russian delegation included employees of the Neurology department IAPE of Bashkir State Medical University. More than 40 thousand doctors and scientists from European countries, Russia and other countries of the world attended the Congress.

The European Academy of Neurology (EAN) was founded in 2014 by merging of two main European neurological societies - ENS and EFNS. The President of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) is Prof. Claudio L. Bassetti. The main areas of the Congress (EAN) are devoted to a wide range of issues as epidemiology and risk factors of vascular diseases of the brain, pathogenesis of acute cerebrovascular pathology, features of introduction of patients in the acute period of cerebral stroke, rehabilitation, cognitive disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, motor disorders, neurosurgical aspects of treatment of epilepsy and Parkinson's disease, neurooncology, neuroimmunology, neurogenetics, etc. The Congress program is full of various thematic symposiums and lectures.

On May 23, 2020, the Congress was opened. Prof. Claudio L. Bassetti, President of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), delivered the welcome speech.

On May 23, 2020, the Poster session Cerebrovascular diseases 5 was held, where Prof. L. B. Novikova, head of the Neurology department of IAPE, presented the poster report: Causes and risk factors of cardioembolic stroke co-authored with the staff of the Department – associate professor A.P. Akopyan, assistant K. M. Sharapova, ass.R. F. Latypova.

At the end of the reports, the active discussion took place. A large number of questions were asked, which testified to the relevance of the topic and its significance in practical medicine. The joint work of leading scientists, practitioners, and healthcare organizers from around the world will help improve medical care for patients with diseases of the nervous system.

All employees of the Neurology department of IAPE are members of the EAN and all of them received certificates for participation in the Congress.
