BSMU Clinic has implemented the method of intravascular ultrasound control for stenting of coronary arteries

In the Cardiovascular and X-ray Surgery department of BSMU Clinic, the method of intravascular ultrasound control for stenting of coronary arteries was introduced.

The method allows accurate structural and quantitative analysis of the studied artery segment during the operation. In contrast to x-ray contrast angiography, this method both  produces an image of the artery lumen, and assesses the ultrasound structure of the vascular wall in various areas, that makes it possible to conduct a detailed qualitative analysis of the atherosclerotic plaque, identify signs of structural instability of the plaque, and the presence of wall thrombotic masses.

On January 23, BSMU Clinic held the master class “Live Surgery: The use of intravascular ultrasound control for coronary artery stenting, dedicated to the Seventh annual transradial endovascular course”.

In addition, on January 24, BSMU Clinic held the Live Surgery study case “The Use of optical coherence tomography for coronary artery stenting" dedicated to the Seventh annual transradial endovascular course.

For more details about the study case and the new method, follow the GTRK “Russia-Bashkortostan” report: https://gtrk.tv/novosti/162373-ufimskie-vrachi-nauchilis-videt-arterii-pacientov-iznutri
