BSMU students became prize-winners of the all-Russian tournament on free-style wrestling in the Republic of Dagestan devoted to Magomedkhan Aratsilov, Silver prize-winner of the XXII Olympic games

On 25 October 2019 the Dagestan State Medical University held the all-Russian freestyle wrestling tournament among students of medical and pharmaceutical universities of Russia for the prizes of Magomedkhan Aratsilov, the Silver medalist of the XXII Olympic games. Teams from the far Eastern, Ryazan, Bashkir Medical Universities, Medical Institute of Kabardino-Balkar University, North Ossetian Medical Academy, M. F. Vladimirsky Moscow Regional Research Clinical Institute arrived in Dagestan to participate in the competition.

Awards were drawn in 10 weight categories, in each of which winners and prize-winners are defined. BSMU students won the competition. Ilyas Nazarov (group 301A, Faculty of Preventive Medicine and Microbiology) and Behruz Mastiev (group 203B, Faculty of Dentistry) took the third place. We sincerely congratulate the athletes and wish them further success.

In the team competition, the third place was awarded by the team of Ryazan State Medical University. The second place – athletes from Kabardino-Balkar University. The first place was taken by the team of Dagestan State Medical University.

Magomedkhan Suleymanovich Aratsilov (May 7, 1951, Khurukh village, Charodinsky district, Dagestan ASSR, RSFSR, USSR) is a Soviet freestyle wrestler, Olympic Silver medalist, world champion, multiple world championship medalist, World Cup winner, multiple champion and medalist of the USSR Championships. Honored master of sports. Tournament for the prizes has become a tradition. BSMU students regularly take part in it and take prizes.
