Professors from Austria held the master class on Gynecological Oncology in BSMU Clinic

On 9 April, BSMU Clinic hosted a master class "Advanced surgical methods in Gynecological Oncology and Urogynecology". Representatives of Vienna University held the master class. The delegation from Vienna University are Beda Hartmann, member of Vienna Medical Association, head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Eastern Social Medical Center and Danube hospital of Vienna University, Alexander Albrecht, head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Burgenland hospital, Professor of the Eastern Social Medical Center and Danube hospital, and Polina Litoshinskaya, doctor of the Eastern Social Medical Center and Danube hospital of Vienna University.

Professor Alfia Yaschuk, head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at BSMU, opened the master class:

- The operation carried out in the framework of today's master class is unique for the Republic of Bashkortostan. The technique of the operation was developed in Austria, and after today's master class is expected to be implemented in the practice of doctors of the Republic of Bashkortostan, - said Alfiya Yaschuk.

In the framework of the master class laparotomies extirpation of the ovary with extraperitoneal limfoadenopatia about severe ovarian cancer to 66-years patient was held.

- We start active cooperation with Bashkir State Medical University, and today we act as experts of new technology in Surgical Oncology. BSMU Clinic has all the necessary modern equipment for operations of European and world standard. We are waiting for students and young doctors to study at our University, - commented Professor Beda Hartmann.

On 8 April the conference "Modern trends in the development of obstetrics and gynecology" was held. At the conference the delegates from Austria and employees of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department of BSMU made presentations.

On 9 April during the visit of the Austrian delegation, the agreement on cooperation between the Bashkir State Medical University and Vienna University was signed. The Universities plan to carry out joint projects in the field of medical education, science and healthcare, organization of joint scientific and educational symposia, conferences and forums, the implementing the programme of exchange of students, residents, graduate students and doctors.
