BSMU students became winners of “I am a Professional” Olympiad

On 26 March 2019 the second season of the large-scale all-Russian student Olympiad “I am a Professional” ended. This year the Olympiad united under 54 directions.

The Olympiad in Medicine was held in the following directions: "Medical business. Pediatrics", "Dentistry" and "Pharmacy". It consisted of two stages: the first stage was presented by online testing, the second stage - face-to-face, evaluation of practical skills of the participants. BSMU is the University-co-organizer of the Olympiad, and therefore was the site of the final stage.

2777 students registered for the 1^st correspondence stage, 642 of them passed to the qualifying stage, 98 – to the final stage.

According to the results of the Olympiad, Guzaliya Iglikova, student of the faculty of Dentistry, and Enikeeva Kadriya, the faculty of Pharmacy, won bronze medals. Also, winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad are defined. In the direction of "Medical business. Pediatrics", 12 students from BSMU became winners and prize-winners, in the direction "Dentistry" 5 winners and 6 prize-winners, in the direction "Pharmacy" 3 winners and 1 prize-winner.

Medalists, winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will receive cash prizes, benefits for admission to residency and postgraduate studies of leading universities and research centers, will be included in the national base "I am a Professional" and will get internships in prestigious Russian companies.

In addition to the competition stages within the framework of the Olympiad, participants who scored the highest number of points at the first stage were invited to specialized winter schools. Ten BSMU students took part in the winter medical school "Sechenov.Pro" at Sechenov University.

- Participation in the Olympiad "I am a Professional" is first of all a unique experience that will play a role in the further development of young professionals.  One of the key principles of the Olympiad is practical orientation, close cooperation with employers. The management of BSMU pays special attention to this Olympiad: the level of the final stage on the basis of our University was highly appreciated by the Federal experts of the Olympiad. At the end of last year, the medalists, winners and prize-winners on favorable terms were able to continue their training in the residency of BSMU, - commented Milyausha Kabirova, dean of the faculty of Dentistry, head of the working group of the Olympiad "I am a Professional" in BSMU.
