Bashkir State Medical University and Harbin Medical University expand fields of cooperation

From 20 March BSMU delegation, consisting of Valentin Pavlov, rector, corresponding member of RAS, Professor Anvar Bakirov, Vice-rector for Medical Work, associate Professor Marat Urmantsev, head of the Oncology department of BSMU Clinic, Serafima Maksimova, resident of the Urology department with the course of IAPE, Azaliya Mukhamedyanova and Timur Ramazanov, students of the faculty of Pediatrics, is on a working visit to China.

The day of arrival was marked by the meeting with Professor Zhao Shiguang in the 1st Affiliated hospital of Harbin Medical University - partner University of BSMU. After that, the delegation visited the 4th Affiliated hospital and Valentin Pavlov congratulated Professor Xu Wanhai on his appointment as Director of the hospital. In June 2018 Professor Xu Wanhai held the master class in BSMU Clinic at the IV all-Russian Urology School with international participation "Robotic surgery in urology. Reconstructive plastic and laparoscopic urology ", which took place in BSMU. BSMU delegation and Professor Xu Wanhai discussed issues on further cooperation in the field of fundamental research of urological diseases. Professor is invited to the Eurasian Congress of Urologists as chairman of the section "One belt. One road", which will be held in Ufa on 24-25 May 2019.

BSMU delegation met with the leadership of Harbin Medical University - academician Jan Baofen, the President, Professor Zhang Xue, rector, professors and directors of the University clinic. Valentin Pavlov held the ceremony of awarding scientific supervisors of post-graduate students from BSMU, studying in HMU.

     - President of HMU, co-chair of RCAMU, academician Yang Baofeng actively cooperates with our University since the SCO and BRICS summits. Nowadays, 18 graduate students from BSMU are trained at HMU, during the period of cooperation three of our graduates have already received PhD. Graduate students are active in research activities in the areas of Cardiology, Oncology, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry and Gastroenterology. All this is carried out, including through the personal participation of academician Yang Baofeng. In 2018 Yang Baofeng was awarded the title "Honorary Professor of the Bashkir State Medical University," - said Valentin Pavlov.

RCAMU (Russian-Chinese Association of Medical Universities), which includes BSMU, had urological conference "One belt. One road". Valentin Pavlov made the presentation "Total pelvic evolution in treatment patients with local advanced pelvic malignances".

On March 21, the meeting with BSMU graduate students, currently studying at Harbin Medical University, was held. Together with Yang Baofeng, the participants of the meeting discussed topical issues and made the plan for further stages of cooperation. Yang Baofeng proposed to continue cooperation and organize the Post Doc training program for students to obtain the Doctor degree of the Medical Sciences.

On March 23, BSMU delegation took part in the 17th North-West Urological Minimally Invasive Forum of New Technologies in the West China hospital of Sichuan University. Valentin Pavlov made the report "Single surgery treatment experience of patients with bladder cancer". The cooperation agreement with Sichuan University was signed in 2015. According to this agreement, mutual student exchanges for summer practical training, professional internships for a period of 1 year, master classes are carried out. The teaching staff of universities actively participates in conferences, seminars, congresses, master classes of the partner University.
