BSMU presented two reports at UK Russia Young Medics Conference 2019 in Moscow

On 1-2 March 2019, the First UK Russia Young Medics Conference 2019 is held at the Congress Center of Sechenov University. The conference includes panel discussions, oral and poster sessions of young scientists and students from the two countries, as well as extensive opportunities for direct communication and intercultural exchange between young medics from Russia and the UK.

More than 200 students and young scientists whose research interests relate to Biomedicine (Bioengineering and Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Biochemistry, etc.) are invited to participate in the conference. More than 35 students, scientists and clinicians, as well as leading researchers and deans of medical faculties of five leading medical schools in the country will represent the delegation from the UK. Among them are the universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Newcastle, as well as the Royal and Imperial Colleges of London.

BSMU delegation - Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, Professor Naufal Zagidullin, head of the Department of International Relations,Timur Bikkuzin, assistant Professor of the Ophthalmology department, senior researcher at BSMU Central Research Laboratory, and Paruyr Davtyan, 5th year student of the faculty of General Medicine, participated in the conference.

Timur Bikkuzin will present the poster “Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Differentiation Into Corneal Endothelial Cells”, Paruyr Davtyan – “Genetic markers of connective tissue and ions channels in sick sinus syndrome”.

For young researchers, participation in the UK-Russia Young Medicine Conference 2019 is a unique chance to get acquainted with potential scientific leaders from Russia and the UK. During the conference, each participant will be able to receive an assessment of their scientific work from experts from leading universities in the UK – University of Cambridge, King's College London, Imperial College London and others. They will also learn about the opportunities to participate in the projects of the UK Russia Young Medics – scientific internships in the UK, clinical programs in Russia.
