Dear friends!
New Tear is a wonderful holiday when we enter a new time under the Kremlin chimes-a time of hopes and expectations, a new stage of development.
Much have been done in the past year. The main result of the outgoing year was an increase in life expectancy and a decrease in mortality rates. This was achieved due to a large-scale medical examination of the population, which saved tens of thousands of lives of our citizens, who were diagnosed with dangerous diseases in the early stages. The most serious attention was paid to the development of primary health care and rural medicine, new medical institutions, medical stations and clinics were put into operation. The quality and accessibility of medical care has been improved through the introduction of effective financial and organizational models, unified internationally recognized protocols for the treatment of the most common diseases. Particular emphasis was paid to the solution of personnel problems of health care: more than 227 thousand applications were accepted in medical universities of our country in the past year; the tendency to increase the number of doctors of scarce specialties and doctors working in rural areas; thanks to the program "Zemskiy doctor" the target set in medical universities has been increased and today more than 80% of graduates know exactly where they will work tomorrow. The medical profession returns to the number of the most prestigious.
I am sure that these positive trends will continue in the future.
We have raised sports medicine to a new level. The football World Cup, held this year in our country, was the best in its history, according to the International Football Federation.
In 2018, the Federal program of drug provision for patients with high-cost nosologies was expanded to five nosologies of orphan diseases. Thirty-eight international nonproprietary names of new medicines have been approved for inclusion in the list of important and essential medicines. The ethical Committee and the Commission on accreditation of experts for biomedical examination of biomedical cell products have been formed, accreditation of medical institutions for clinical research of biomedical cell products is carried out. These steps open the possibility for the rapid development of the innovative sector of Biomedicine in our country, bringing to market and introducing new modern methods of treatment of various diseases.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who worked for the benefit of Russian healthcare this year. Thank you to the public and charitable organizations that help patients regain health!
In the new year, we face large-scale challenges. I am sure that the hard work and professionalism of doctors, nurses and junior medical staff, their responsibility, dedication and dedicated service will help not only to consolidate the results achieved, but also to achieve new successes.
Seeing off the outgoing year, we will keep all the best that was in it, and we will move forward on the path of new achievements!
