Activists of BSMU youth scientific societies demonstrated their achievements to Ufa pupils

On 8 December 2018, the Bashkir State Medical University held the Youth Scientific Conference “Pen sample”. Traditionally, students from junior courses and high school attended it. In total, about 140 reports were represented in six sections: Basic Medicine, Humanities (two sections), Pharmacy, Dentistry, the First Steps in Clinical Disciplines/Preventive Medicine.

The exhibition of scientific societies is a significant event for BSMU youth science. This event is an indicator of practical and scientific activity of students. Fifty-five clubs presented their expositions. Two hundred and seventy activists of the Medical Scientific Society introduced students to scientific societies. Representatives of the active societies answered all the questions of the visitors and introduced the participants to the new technologies that scientists use in research and experiments.

Professor Irina Rakhmatullina, Vice-rector for Scientific and Innovative work at BSMU, Professor Naufal Zagidullin, head of the International Relations department, Konstantin Mochalov, head of BSMU Central Research Laboratory, acting Chairman of the Medical Scientific Society, teaching staff and more than 1,000 students and pupils from Ufa schools visited the exhibition.

“Pen sample” demonstrated not only the scientific component of each society, but also presented the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice. Participants had the opportunity to work on the endobox, to conduct CPR on mannequins, and to work out routine methods of examination of patients: determination of blood sugar, measurement of blood and eye pressure.

For the first time the exhibition successfully launched the project "Start with yourself", aimed at the prevention of various diseases and promotion of healthy lifestyles. Thirty-four scientific societies attended it. Students and guests of the event were examined at each of the presented society and received stickers. Having received 20 stickers, participants exchanged them for a gift from the organizers of the quest. The aim of the project was to encourage the population to undergo medical examination on time and to monitor their health.

Speaking at the conference and publishing the results of their own theoretical and practical research is a great opportunity for young researchers to test themselves. It is of great importance to be able to find, analyze, organize and competently present the information. The participants of the conference received huge experience in the field of research work. The winners were awarded with diplomas at the awards ceremony

According to the results of the exhibition, the best scientific associations of BSMU were recognized societies of the Public Health and Health Organization department with the Course of IAPE, the Hospital Therapy №2 department and the Neurology department.
