At the eve of the II Russian-Chinese Youth Winter Games BSMU held VII Festival of winter sports among students and faculty

On 12 December, BSMU held the VII Festival of Winter Sports among students and faculty of the University in the "Olympic Park". Participants competed in two disciplines – skiing and snowboarding. The festival was held at the eve of the II Russian-Chinese Youth Winter Games. Ufa will host them from 15 till 18 December 2018.

Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, opened the Festival:

- The winter sports festival has become a good tradition for our University and this year it is held for the seventh time. Our students are participants and winners of sports competitions of all-Russian and world importance; in addition, they are volunteers of the most important world sports events. More than 700 BSMU volunteers took part in the Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi, in the summer of 2018 our volunteers participated in the World Cup, now we are preparing for the Winter Olympics 2022 in Beijing. I wish the participants of the Festival cheerfulness and energy from today!, - Valentin pavlov noted.

The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Vladimir Ishmetov, Vice rector for Educational and Social Work at the University, Shamil Bulatov, chief physician of BSMU Clinic, Valeriy Matveev, director of the "Olympic Park", and Anton Koprivica, master of sports of Russia, a snowboarder, a participant of the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi.

More than 140 students, residents, teachers and doctors BSMU Clinic participated at the competition.

BSMU is the only University of the Republic, conducting competitions in Alpine skiing and snowboarding. It should be reminded that BSMU sport club on skiing and snowboarding operates at the "Olympic Park". Students, who have mastered these sports, defend the honor of the University at the national and international competitions. Those who like active rest spend their time outdoors and improve their health.

Sport club on skiing and snowboarding operates at the "Olympic Park". Training takes place from 17:00 to 20:00. You can enroll in the club at the Physical Culture department of BSMU.
