BSMU organized the conference “The World Youth for Countering Terrorism and Extremism”

On 7 December the State Assembly - Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan hosted the conference "The World youth for counteraction to terrorism and extremism".

The organizers were the Bashkir State Medical University with the coordination role of the State Assembly – the Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Youth Public Chamber at the State Assembly – the Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The experts of the conference became Valentin Pavlov, rector of the Bashkir State Medical University, corresponding member of RAS, Rail Asadullin, Deputy of the State Assembly – Kurultay RB, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports, Zarina Gazizova, Chairman of the Youth public chamber at the State Assembly – Kurultay RB, Ayup hazrat Bibarsov, 1st Deputy Mufti of the Muslim spiritual board of RB, Dionysius Efimov, head of the Missionary department of the Ufa Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church Priest, Professor Vladimir Ishmetov, vice rector on Educational and Social work at BSMU, Galina Malofeeva, head of the Educational department on work with juvenile and youth at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and Gulbika Khairlvalina, chief editor of "Aisha" magazine. The participants of the conference became BSMU and BSU students.

- The medical community of our region and of the whole world is a reference platform for combating extremism and terrorism. It is medical personnel, who are the first to encounter manifestations of nationalism, extremism and terrorism. BSMU is an international University, which determines our active educational work with students in the field of protection of young people from radical and extremist ideological currents, - said in his welcoming speech Valentin Pavlov.

Rail Asadullin noted the role of the legislature in the formation of consciousness of the younger generation and young people. Zarina Gazizova addressed the conference participants with instructions to limit the time of presence in social networks, to give preference to live communication, education and sports. Representatives of religious denominations of the Republic of Bashkortostan drew attention to the fact that spiritual education, the ideology of peace, kindness and love should come from families and be brought up in children from an early age. Galina Malofeeva emphasized that the state actively fulfils youth policy, strengthening youth self-awareness, their employment in leisure time.

At the end of the conference Professor Vladimir Ishmetov made the report "Doctors of the world for countering terrorism and extremism" and stressed the role of the international movement "Doctors of the world against terrorism", created in Russia. Members of the movement carry out mass public actions, act in the media, conduct educational work and participate in a dialogue with the authorities and civil institutions.

- The medical personnel is required not only the ability to provide medical care, but also to show patience, humanity and love for the patient. After all, sometimes a good word and understanding can be more valuable than any medicine, - Vladimir Ishmetov pointed out in the final report of the conference.
