The Russian Symposium of pediatric surgeons with international participation "Hirschsprung's Disease and neuro-intensive dysplasia among children" was held in Moscow, Sechenovskiy University.
The Symposium was held on the sidelines of the conference "Topical issues of pediatric surgery and urology-andrology", which is carried out on the fifty-eighth time and has a long history, inextricably linked with the development of pediatric surgery in our country.
Before the Symposium, the Minister inspected the exhibition of modern Russian medical equipment.
This year teaching pediatric surgery marks 125 years since its beginning, as well as 25 years since the establishment of the Russian Association of Pediatric Surgeons.
Minister, Veronika Skvortsova, in her speech congratulated her colleagues on this significant date and pointed out the positive results of recent years.
"The number of treated children has increased by more than 13% over the past 5 years. Qualitative changes have also taken place. Experts developed 77 clinical recommendations on pediatric surgery. The share of high-tech pediatric surgery has increased. In fact, from scratch created phytal surgery", - said the Minister.
She also said that young people actively come to the specialty, - "During 5 years the number of specialists-pediatric surgeons has increased by 18%."
At the end of her speech, the Minister wished everyone successful work and interesting discussions.
Dmitry Morozov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Healthcare protection, also made a report at the event. He noted that the Symposium was held in the landmark year of the 260th anniversary of Sechenovskiy University.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Anatoly Tsyb, special representative of the World Health Organization in the Russian Federation, Dr. Melita Vuinovich, rector of I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, Peter Glybochko, and director of the Department of Medical Care for Children and Maternity Services of the Ministry of Healthcare, Elena Baybarina, attended the Symposium.
