Elena Baybarina, the Director of the Department, took part in the XX Congress of Russian Pediatricians

The anniversary XX Congress of Russian Pediatricians “Actual Problems on Pediatrics” with international participation began in Moscow. The Congress brought together the leading domestic and foreign experts of the industry.

At the congress the participants will discuss the achievements and the main ways for further development of the pediatric service in Russia.

The program of the event includes a large number of plenary sessions, scientific and practical conferences, discussions, round tables and clinical analysis for physicians of various specialties.

Elena Baybarina, the Director of the Medical Care for Children and Obstetric Care Service Department, reported about the decrease in infant mortality and children’s death rates of all ages during the last 5 years.

Elena Baybarina also pointed out the decrease in the incidence of major diseases among children from 0 to 14 years old but at the same time she told about the increase of the sickness rate among teenagers (15-17 years). According to her report, this is mainly because of external factors, such as unhealthy food and low physical activity.

As Elena Baybarina emphasized, it was necessary to develop school medicine, prevention, to form adherence for a healthy lifestyle among teenagers, and to introduce lean technologies into the organization of primary care institutions actively to change the situation with the sickness rate.
