Minister Veronika Skvortsova took part in the joint session of the State Duma Committee on health protection and General meeting of the Association "Rectors’ Council of Medical and Pharmaceutical Institutions of Higher Education" in Sechenov University
At a joint meeting devoted to medical education issues in the Russian Federation, the Minister outlined the new stage in the development of public health: "For the first time in the country the system of quality management of medical care is developing. Nowadays our task is to apply it in every corner of the country. That fracture that has happened now is very important: no matter where a person lives all around Russia, he must get the same medical care. The only difference is logistics. The quality criteria plays the important role. On this purpose we built a three-tier system."
She also pointed out the importance to train highly qualified staff. "The decree on the introduction of continuous medical education is signed. Thousands of interactive are running modules programs. Website on continuous professional medical education is working. It is associated with the federal register of physicians and it allows us to see how often a person visits it, where he upgrades his skills and to calculate his level of training. The trend of continuous professional education will let us to perform the tasks that are important for us," - said Veronika Skvortsova.
Addressing students, the Minister emphasized: "The students are a huge strength. We have 800 universities, 99 universities offer programs related to medical education. We have 272 thousand medical students. We are the most innovative and fast-growing industry. In the first place, there is Biomedicine, under which other sciences adjust. We bring up the kindness and power quality, hard working and commitment to the key principles and traditions of domestic medicine. At these points the man that we believe to be medical is shaped ".
Separately, the Minister thanked the faculty.
In her speech, Veronika Skvortsova also summed up the results of the accreditation introduced two years ago: "We have accredited 32 thousand graduates. This year we start the accreditation of nurses, and in 2019 - narrow specialists".
