On existing good tradition, on 31 December the New Year party was organized for students in BSMU. Of course, most of the participants are foreign students, however, every year the number of "local" students who take part in the New Year celebration in BSMU canteen, is steadily growing. New Year party for students is not only the organization of leisure time for students who stay in hostels during Christmas holiday, but also a great opportunity to unite Russian and foreign students from 40 countries. The rector of BSMU, corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Valentin Pavlov pays great attention to the internationalization of higher medical education and the integration of our University in the most advanced scientific and educational platforms of the world. Now it has resulted in the attractiveness of study in BSMU for students from different parts of the world.
Santa Claus and Snow Maiden visited New Year party. They conducted fascinating and funny contests and quests. Every participant of this international staff of BSMU had the opportunity to talk about traditions of New Year celebration in his country. Bright national dances alternated with youth well-known music. This year the highlight of the program was the lezginka, a Caucasian energetic dance picked up by all participants.
A festive buffet was organized in addition to competitions and discos for students. The culinary highlight was the national dishes of Indian, Tajik, African and Arabic cuisines, cooked by chefs of the BSMU canteen according to the recipes of our students. New Year party was funny and friendly.
The Dean's office on work with foreign students thanks the rector of the University V. N. Pavlov and all the involved services for the celebration.
